Leven to Earlsferry

Part of St Margaret’s Way

Description

After Leven, take the beach or the path to the pretty village of Largo, overlooked by the double humped Largo Law, passing the harbour and underneath the giant viaduct, past the house commemorating Robinson Crusoe and onto the famous Largo Bay and along golden sands and through dunes to Earlsferry where, before the Reformation, pilgrims heading for St Andrews landed in their thousands.

After Earlsferry the final section of 26 km takes you north through quiet countryside to St Andrews. Alternatively, continue east along the spectacular Fife Coastal Path along the section named Saint Margaret’s Elbow for about 37 km to St Andrews. Certain sections not suitable for bicyclists.
