Annan to Bankhead

Part of Part 1 – Carlisle to Whithorn

With the option of a short cut along the coast or inland though rich farmland, this 3rd section of St Ninian’s Way starts from the centre of Annan and continues west along Bike Route 7.  It crosses the  bridge onto Annandale Way and proceeds south on west bank of River Annan to crossroads (2 km). Here you can either either continue along BR 7 inland to Powfoot (5km) or take short cut along coast to Powfoot (3 km) but going may be difficult in places. Then rejoin BR 7 and quiet roads 14 km to Bankhead.
